Digital Card Designed After A Fabric

Remember these that I made for a baby shower that I went to? Well, now that I am doing digital cards I thought I would take this idea and make a card from it.

Here is the card I designed. I do notice that the words are a little light so I would probably change the font so it was thicker. It totally turned out way cute.

Just a few more. I'm trying to work on a bunch of different kind of baby announcements so there is a variety. I am also working on a Save the Date card and a baby shower card right now.

Birth Announcement

Just another birth announcement I have in my store. I am going to try and put something in every day. This week may only have a few since I am planning a huge group date for Saturday and all my energies are going to that. I will be doing a HUGE post all about it after I am done. I wish I could do it sooner but I have a husband that sometimes checks this site out. Look for it next week.

Caelan's Valentine

So, this is what my daughter's Valentine looked like. She gave it to the kids in her Primary class.
Yes she is blurry on purpose. I wanted the hand to be in focus.

Here is how I did it.
I took a picture of her holding out her fist out, and a nice face that shows her personality. I bought some Valentine suckers to go with it.
I cut slits above her fist and at the bottom of her pinkie finger.
Then I slid in the lollipop and voila, cute Valentine.
Now, I wish that I could say that I came up with this on my own but I can't. I do forget where I saw this. If you are the one that I saw make this, let me know, and I'll link to yours. Thanks!

Update: I just got a comment telling me that it was Alissa from 24-7-365. That was the one I was thinking about. Go to her post to see the ones she did. So cute!
Thanks for letting me know!

Crocheted Hats, A Pattern, & A Giveaway!

Lately I have been wanting to make those really cute crocheted hats. I finally found a pattern and made a bunch of them. Of course I had to make four of them before one would fit my son.
I hadn't figured out gauge and such at that time so I just kept on making them till one fit. Finally one did. I think he looks so handsome.
Here is the pattern for this hat. It was pretty easy to make.

Materials:
-Worsted weight yarn
-Size J or K crochet hook (for adult size hat)

Gauge:
-5 dc=2 inches
-6 rows=5 inches

Directions:
Beginning at top with main color, ch 5, sl st in first ch to form ring.

Round 1: Ch 3, 11 dc in ring. Join with a sl st in top of ch 3. Turn each round.*

Round 2: Ch 3, 2 dc in each dc around = 24 dc Sl st in top of ch 3.

Round 3: Ch 3, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc (12 times) = 36 dc
(You can make this row twice to make a larger hat)

Round 4: Ch 3, dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc (12 times) = 48 dc

Round 5-12: Ch 3, dc in each dc around. I added a different color to rows 9, 11, and 12.

Round 13-16: Ch 1, sc in each st around.

Can fold sc rounds for a smaller hat.

* I didn't turn the hat. I just kept on going in one continuous round.

The other hat I made was this scalloped one. I saw how hats are made and decided to try out making one from scratch. This is what I came up with. I think it turned out pretty cute. The only thing I would change would be part of the top. It pocks out a little bit and I have to figure out how to make it so it doesn't do that.

So, here is the giveaway! You have a choice between one of the two hats I made that don't fit my son's head. One has a circumference of 14 inches and the other has one of 16 inches. I'm guessing both will fit from around 6 months to 1 1/2 years. I would measure your kids' head though.

Here is how you enter. You must do the first one before you can enter the other times. Each one counts as one entry. If you are already a follower and have the button just let me know in a separate comment.
